| Version No: | 1.1 |
| Subject: | DSCN 35/2002 - Central Return A6 - Availability of Dentistry |
| Type of Change: | Revision of NHS data standards |
| Effective Date: | 1 April 2003 |
| Reason for Change: | Discontinuation of Central Return A6 Availability of Dentistry |
Background:
With Shifting the Balance of Power there is no requirement for the Department of Health centrally to monitor local situations regarding access to NHS dentistry. Since the introduction of NHS Direct for dentistry in September 2001, NHS Direct data has been used for monitoring the dentistry availability through data on the number of telephone calls handled related to dentistry. In addition data is provided through the SaFF quarterly monitoring returns. As the data is gathered from other sources, the central return A6 Availability of Dentistry is to be discontinued.
This DSCN details changes to the NHS Data Dictionary Version.2, due to the discontinuation of the central return.
