This can be either a:

• Registered Disability:
  • where a PERSON is registered as disabled with their Local Authority; or
  
  
• Perceived Disability:
  • an indication of whether the PERSON considers themself to be disabled.

A PERSON can have more than one Registered DISABILITY.This could be where:

• the PERSON has been diagnosed as disabled or
• the PERSON considers themself to be disabled.

A Learning Disability may be a:This may be derived from PATIENT DIAGNOSIS or collected using DISABILITY CODE.

• Registered DISABILITY, which is recorded using REGISTERED DISABILITY CODE if the PERSON is registered disabled; or
• Perceived DISABILITY, which is recorded using PERCEIVED DISABILITY CODE if the clinician considers the PATIENT to have a Learning Disability but it is not formally registered.
