The Work and Social Adjustment Scale is a type of ASSESSMENT TOOL.
The Work and Social Adjustment Scale (W&SAS) is a simple 5-item self report measure which provides an experiential impact of a disorder from the PATIENT's point of view.
It looks at how the disorder impairs the PATIENT's ability to function day to day with depression and / or anxiety as well as phobic disorders.
The questions relate to the PATIENT's:
- ability to work
- home management
- social leisure activities
- private leisure activities
- close relationships
If a PATIENT has selected "Non Applicable" for the 'ability to work' question or if one value is missing, then these scores can be substituted with the average score of the non-missing items. Questionnaires with more than one missing value should be disregarded.
