Professional Staff Group Episode is an ACTIVITY GROUP.

The period in which a PATIENT has received treatment from a Professional Staff Group Service of a Health Care Provider.

The episode will be made up of one or more Professional Staff Group Contacts, and will start on the date of the initial contact.

For speech and language therapy services the duration of the episode should be recorded.

The episode of care is terminated by a formal discharge or by no Professional Staff Group Contact occurring for at least six months, in the absence of a planned review date.

For each episode a MAIN SPECIALTY may be recorded for the source of referral .
