GMP Partnership is an ORGANISATION.

An ORGANISATION constituted for the disbursement of payments and reimbursements due to general medical services. It exists where two or more GENERAL MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS have entered into a legal business relationship in which the partners are jointly and severally liable for the activities of the partnership as defined in the Partnership Act 1884, and conforming to Section 17.1 of the NHS(General Medical and Pharmaceutical Services Regulations 1974).

The posts held by the members of the partnership do not need to be approved by any NHS organisation neither do members have to be contracted to provide services to the NHS.

GMP Partnerships do not survive any change in the contractual arrangements concerning the membership of GENERAL MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS who have been assigned as Principals by virtue of their holding a general medical services contract. Other members can change without necessitating the cessation of the partnership.
