The total number of PATIENTS treated (CARE ACTIVITY) at the scene of a TRANSPORT REQUEST INCIDENT by the Ambulance Service and as a result of that treatment did not require onward transportation for further treatment i.e. where there is no PATIENT TRANSPORT JOURNEY.

If, as part of that treatment, the Ambulance Service staff arranged, for example, an APPOINTMENT for the PATIENT at a GP Practice or a follow-up home visit from a CARE PROFESSIONAL, that should be counted as treatment at the scene.

Responses where Ambulance Service staff attended a TRANSPORT REQUEST INCIDENT and advice was given but no CLINICAL INTERVENTION was necessary with no onward transportation required, that should also be included as treatment at the scene.
