This data item is not in the Commissioning Data Set. At the Secondary Uses Service, the code values of ADMINISTRATIVE CATEGORY CODE and MENTAL HEALTH ACT LEGAL STATUS CLASSIFICATION CODE are extracted and included in the Hospital Episode Statistics extract. Hospital Episode Statistics uses them to derive the Hospital Episode Statistics data item CATEGORY OF PATIENT.
