A Newborn Physical Examination is a Clinical Investigation.
A physical examination of the baby is carried out within 72 hours of birth, using appropriate clinical examination techniques to examine:
- the heart for congenital heart defects (CHD)
- hips for developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH)
- testes for undescended testes and
- eyes.
