A Measured Referral to Treatment Period is any REFERRAL TO TREATMENT PERIOD.
It enables the time to the start of First Definitive Treatment to be measured following a SERVICE REQUEST to
- a Consultant Led Service
- an Interface Service
- a Direct Access Service for Audiology
- an NHS Allied Health Professional Service (Referral To Treatment Measurement)

Where a referral is made during a Referral To Treatment Period Excluded From Target for the same disease, condition or injury and the referral is to a Consultant Led Service the Referral To Treatment Period Excluded From Target will end with REFERRAL TO TREATMENT PERIOD STATUS of National Code 34 - Decision not to treat and a new REFERRAL TO TREATMENT PERIOD will start.
