The NHS Data Model and Dictionary has a number of diagrams which represent specific parts of the NHS Data Model.

The diagrams show:

• Relationships between Classes;
• Relationship Cardinality;
• Key Attributes and
• Other Attributes that are relevant to the model view. Note that not all Attributes for a Class will be visible.

There are three frames to each Diagram:

• "Left Hand Frame": shows the Diagrams Menu.
• 
  
• "Middle Frame":
  • Displays the diagram, which contains Classes and selected Attributes associated to that Class.
  • If you click on any Class or Attribute, the description will be displayed in the "Right Hand Frame".
  • 
    
• "Right Hand Frame":
  • Initially shows the Diagram overview page, which provides information relating to the selected diagram.
  • Displays definitions viewed from the "Middle Frame."
• 
  
• Where information is displayed in frames, the width of the frames can be adjusted by clicking on the “vertical” scroll bar and dragging it left or right as appropriate.
